Mode of delivery in hepatitis b
Hi Doctor, I am 36 week pregnant and have hepatitis b. Earlier my viral load was 38600 iu/ml and alt was 145. I have started Udiliv 300 three times a day and taf 25 since 1 month, and hopefully have reduced viral load now. Can I go for normal delivery? Doctor is open for both mode but was more in favour of c-section. What is your opinion.

If you fulfill all criteria for normal delivery ,then it is possible... Hepatitis b is not a contraindication for normal delivery.. C section is adviced may be because of viral load...

With hepatitis B there is very less risk of transmission through vaginal delivery So there is no indication to go for c section just for hepatitis B positive If pelvis is favorable you can opt normal delivery
