Mitral valve replacement surgery.
I am 68 (Male). Queries: Open Heart surgery or Minimal Invasive surgery (MICS)? What valve should I use, Mechanical or Tissue? I am having Atrial Fibrillation, will it continue? I got to know from a Cardiac Surgeon that tissue valve lasts only 5 years for AF patients. Please suggest.

who has suggested you tissue valve..???????? tissue valve is out of question for you only advantage of tissue valve over mechanical valve is that you dont have to use life ling anticoagulation( blood thinner) medicines with tissue valves. but anyhow you require life long anticoagulation because of AF. so tissue valve is 100 % useless for you
