Missed 2 period dates
My wife has missed two period dates. Her LMP was 22nd march 2017. She has undergone Beta HCG twice . Once on 11th May and then on 29th May 2017. her first result was 4.9 and 2nd result is below 1.2. She still have not got her periods. What should we do.

There is a phenomenon called the Hook Effect which if present results in false negative results of beta HCG whether done qualitatively (Card test) or quantitatively (Serum estimation)... Some special laboratories interpret these values by serial dilution... Or it may be that she is really having low levels of beta HCG and the absence of menses may be due to other hormonal disturbances
