Hello Doctor,
Currently my sister (age 20) is diagnosed with lung Tuberculosis currently from 1.5 months. As per the Symptoms currently she has severe cough which is not going even though she is under the medication. Doctor has told that she has lung cavities and 70% lung is damaged. Just wanted to ask for how long she will be having the severe cough. As she has severe cough everyday. In cough there is no blood, fever is controlled, she has started walking little, she is able to breath without oxygen mask but her cough is not going and it's very severe doctor. Could you please help us out regarding when her cough will go away? Or will at least reduce?

Since there is 70 percent lung parenchymal involvement , symptoms may take longer duration than usual to subside, continue anti tubercular drugs and take high protein diet.do a online consultation with a pulmonologist for symptomatic evaluation and management
