My mother was feeling lump on her right breast from past 5 days. It was bit painful and reddish. Had a consultation with an experienced gaenocologist . She suggested it's nothing suspicious and gave medication for 5 days related to infection.
My mother has taken the medication for 3 days and she feels the lump is getting smaller with no pain.
Her Age is 49 years. Diabetics patient

Routine screening is recommended from theage of 40-44 years for every women . So since your mother is 49 years , she should definitely undergo a mammogram . This should be done even if the current lump has subsided .
Please continue the medication as advised by your gynaecologist and get a mammogram done .

Screening for breast cancer with mammogram yearly once is recommended for women starting from 40 years.
Get a screening mammogram.
