Hello dr,my child is of 8 years old he had food poisoning like symptoms since 7 days we hv given probiotic and sporlac- sp tablets He was eating v less quantity of fruit and drinks juice since 7 days   From today he had his meal But he lost 5 kg in 7 days we r worrying shall he needs iv to restore his energy Kindly help  shall we ? First check with properly on good weighing machine because this is a very severely loss from the weight. In that case, child should not be active also

Losing 5 kg in 7 days is significant. Can be due to dehydration and that might need an iv drip for correction. Better to consult a Paediatrician as soon as possible.
