My gf caught cold fever two months ago. She was severely ill then, and suffered frequent headaches, vomiting, lose of appetite and terrible loose motions. Through normal medications, her condition improved after a couple of weeks except the latter two problems prevailed since then. She visited a few doctors around and all they got to say was infection, their medications didn't helping much. What all tests do she need to undergo so as to address the root cause of her problem rather than treating symptoms? Apologies if I may have sounded rough. Looking forward for your reply...

There could be multiple reasons for loose motions persistent after any infection, either part of infection or some inflamatory condition affecting bowels which is got uncovered by infection, drug induced alteration in bowel habbits.
So instead of trying multiple medications, patient need proper evaluation for the same.
