Hi Doctor
Can anyone please help me my daughter has got severe loose motions with fever.
For fever we are giving crocin 5 ml but for loose motions we got Change M syrup from pharmacy and gave her 5ml.
Is that OK. I know it's antibiotic medicine but we needed it urgently.
Can anyone please help.

It's not ok
Taking antibiotic making your child silently still sick it's adverse effects on liver and kidney will show impact later on not now
Frequent taking antibiotics unnecessarily will cause a resistance to bacteria it will not work when you need it really
Hi, please mention child’s age/weight as dose depends on that.
Loose motions with fever are mostly viral, so avoid continuing Change M without doctor advice. Give ORS frequently, continue feeds, and start zinc.
Crocin is fine...give as per weight
Watch for low urine, lethargy, persistent vomiting or blood in stool—if present, show to doctor. If not improving in 1–2 days, get examined.
It is not advisable to take antibiotics directly from a pharmacy without proper medical evaluation. The need for antibiotics depends on the child’s disease history and current symptoms. I strongly recommend consulting a pediatrician for appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, and guidance.
