you definitely need a physiotherapist to rehabilitate your knee joint. self exercises are not advisable. your exercises should initially start with pelvic tilts to improve your low back mobility and to normalise your hip- pelvic alignment, which is the key for a normal functioning of your knee joint. this should be followed by graded lengthening of your hip flexors and calf muscles and finally training the knee muscles.
Next Steps
you can preferably wear a hinged knee brace for initial weight bearing and wallking.
