Liver Function Test
In recent blood test to my wife at 5th week of pregnancy, LFT report says SGOT 78 & SGPT 177. Along with these she had Thyroid TSH level 5.7, haemoglobin level 7.9. Treatment was started for thyroid & low blood level but worried about LFT reports. Is it serious or these levels elevates during pregnancy first trimester? Please suggest.

Hi, elevated levels of SGOT and SGPT indicates liver is suffering, more common with patients having fatty liver. If associated with itching need full liver function reports and supportive treatment. During near full term pregnancy may need early delivery.
