Left knee pain, stiffness, swelling.
In December 2012, she had a hyperextension injury to her left knee on the wet floor. After 15 days, it developed stiffness, difficulty bending, sitting or rising from a seated position. The knee got swelled. Doctor/surgeon made an aspiration of 100 cc of clear fluid from the knee and the culture reported no microorganisms in the joint fluid but no improvement in pain thereafter, swelling also came back and persisted. After 15 days or so, we went to another specialist and he diagnosed it as septic arthritis and treated with following medications: Stafcure CV 500, Enzomac, Hifenac P, Pantium DSR. There was mild relief of pain but swelling and stiffness there. after oral prednisolone in tapering dose, she did well for a long time but all symotoms returning now. Presently, Sazo 1000 mg twice a day, hydroxychloroquine 200 mg once a day, and Jointace DN using for last four months without much help. RA factor positive at 33, ESR at 56, and CRP is normal.
