Late periods or pregnancy?

Asked for Female, 20 Years

Since about 6-8 months, my periods have been 1-2 days late every time. Last periods were on 26th June. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on 22nd July but he did not ejaculate in me. I haven't gotten my periods since June.. I'm a little worried as I'm more than a week late. Should I get checked up for pregnancy right away or should I wait a few more days? Or should I just go for a home pregnancy test? Please give suggestions.
