My mom has 16x16 mm stone with 1400HU in renal pelvis. My doctor is going to do RIRS and post RIRS we need to go for ESWL one sitting. So that the stone will be removed completely.
Will it be effective on the above said stone?
Will 1400HU stone be difficult to remove by ESWL even after disintergrated by RIRS or will it remove the stone successfully?
Kindly provide your insight?

1.6 cm stone can be removed completely with rirs.
eswl is not required most of the times.
For hard stone with Hu value of 1400 eswl is not advisable.
Rirs / pcnl at the options for this stone.
