I fly to kenya next saturday when i had my travel vaccinations last month i was informed i didmnt require a yellow fever one, now looking online it looks like they are compolsary, and require a certificate to get into the country. is this correct, please help!!

Check the main website of Kenya on what vaccinations are required on entry. As per the rules on the official site should be followed and the vaccinations should be taken.
