Jaundice in 78 days baby
Hi my son has prolonged jaundice at 60 days unconjugated bilirubin 6.3 and Conjugated 0.3 and Gardenal syp( phenobarbitone) 10days given now the value is unconjugated 5.8 and Conjugated 0.4.is he improving. Please give your opinion

Hello... Normal value of total is within 0.3 to 0.9 mg per dl... His unconjugated bilirubin is still high but since he is showing improvement you can continue medicine for 10 days... But what's the cause for jaundice at 78th day? That should be looked into.. Because physiological jaundice subsides within a week....
