Itchy skin
3 month old puppy ( Maltipoo). My poor puppy is constantly itchy. We've been to the vet but the vet said it's his habit.. he's given him amoxicillin (0.2ml to be given twice day) as a precaution.. The poor baby whines and scratches himself constantly inspite of that..he's had it amoxicillin for 5 days already.. Hasn't helped him at all..can't be habit.. scratches his ears and face a lot.. doc has checked him for mats. He's got dry skin on his back.. Should we bathe him every ten days? Please help. The vets treatment doesn't seem to be working. He's having Fidele.. not sure if he's allergic to that or what. We're constantly worried about..

Itching is Multifactorial. It can be be because of Fleas, ticks,Mites or Allergy..with out knowing proper history very difficult to suggest medication..you can change Fidele to some other kibble incase you have any doubt.. nothing wrong in changing that..if itching is because of Food allergy it can help.if you feel Current treatment is not working pls consult some other vet or you can a consultant a vet online for further investigation and treatment options.

Skin issues can be a result of various factors. This cannot be resolved like this. Kindly visit a vet or start a consultation. A lot of information is required to know what could be the reason for this itching. Also skin conditions take time to heal so you would require a doctor to go through the process.

It can also be an allergic reaction. But without checking him, prescribing medications will be dangerous. He may need a complete examination first before prescribing any medications. If your previous veterinary doctor prescription didn't help, then get a second opinion as you can have a prescription.
