They said it was a herpes simplex. But I never had sex. It was itchy and dry around my lips for almost a month.

Hi there, herpes may or may not be related to sex... You may have a dryness problem.. You may increase your intake of water and apply petroleum jelly (lip balm) to keep your lips moist.... If using lipstick please check the quality rather you may discontinue using it. Observe the response for 10 days... If it doesn't subside then you have to consult with dentist or skin specialist.
