Itching all over the body
My mother is having server itching all over her body. She gets relief for a day or two on taking Cetirizine but after that the itching starts again. There are no rashes or anything on the skin.
Also she got should pain all of sudden.
Apart from these she has gastric problem, but that is something that she suffers from long.
She used to take Nexito plus for 4 months, but now she doesn't take.
Also she has history of suffering from anemia.
We are unable to understand the reason for the itching, is it something serious?

Hello , tell her gastric problems in detail. Itching Is likely to be related to gastric complaints. Have you done her liver function tests? Cetrizine will give temporary relief only..

You need to do a basic blood profile with serum IgE and blood sugar levels fasting and post lunch. Till then she can continue Cetrizine to relieve her symptoms

A new onset itching could be there because of multitude of reasons, the most common ones being allergic reactions (allergy to a drug, a new cloth, a new soap, detergent, pollen), infections, flare of old skin diseases, drying of skin, etc etc. To be able to understand her problem better a detailed assessment is required (considering her anemia, GI issues, shoulder pain).
