Is vaccine safe for her?
She had 2 open heart surgery and one hip replacement. Is it okay for her to take vaccine? She is under medication (acitrom 2mg and 3mg). Will there be any severe side effects?

Hi. She is on oral anti-coagulant acitrom. We need to know the latest INR. Also what open heart surgeries were done? Why was Acitrom advised? Does she have any prosthetic valve or does she have any heart rhythm issues or any clot in heart? As before the vaccine she will need to go off Acitrom and monitor her INR and during that period depending on the medical reason for which she is on acitrom will need bridging with injectable thinner (Heparin/LMWH and likes).
Next Steps
It is best to consult a doctor before planning the vaccine as she will require close follow up and serial blood INR tests first while stopping acitrom temporarily, and also while restarting after vaccine.
Health Tips
Seek consultation with all details and latest INR report.
