Is pneumococcal vaccine necessary ?
Hi, I'm a mother of a 3 month old baby girl and my doctor has given me the option to choose whether or not to give my baby a pneumococcal vaccination. I've spoken to a few other mothers about it and I'm getting varied responses. Hence I wanted to know from you doctors about the various pros and cons of this vaccine and is it really necessary to give it to my child? Thanks for your help in advance.

It's absolutely necessary. You are going to prevent a major illness . Prevanar is costlier one but if you can afford it do go for it or else atleast give synflorix worth about 1600 in market. It's very imp. Forget about all the "no" comments for it. In case your child gets it then you'll end up spending more
