It is safe to visit dentist if you take precautions against covid and ask to dentist too. Or do massage chat or video consultation  to avoid the visit.

it is absolutely safe to visit a dentist in hospital or in clinic for the treatment as the dentists are also taking extreme precautions by using PPE kits for doing the treatment for every patients.

Untill it's not an emergency it's always better to stay at home for kids below 5 yrs . But for child your a better judge than anyone else. Dentist are taking precautions ...but for kids we cannot give100% surety.
