Is HSG xray mandatory
I am 30 years old married woman trying to be conceive for last 1 year. Along with my husband i have consulted a gynecologist, she suggested tor few tests for me and sperm analysis for my husband. The reports were normal for me but my husband has low sperm motility. His active progression is 15, Slow progression is 7. Now my gynecologist suggested me to take HSG xray. I am little bit worried, whether HSG is Mandatory for me at this moment. Please suggest do i need to undergo this HSG xray and  comment if any side effects.

You should go for Diagnostic Laparoscopy with chromotubation. The only difference is that HSG will cost you Rs 1500. Laparoscopy with chromotubation will cost you Rs 25,000 to 30,000. They will give same information. You are right.  HSG is not mandatory.
