Is hsg test painful
Is hsg performed under anesthesia.
My doctor suggested anesthesia, is it okay.
And also advice not to eat anything 4 hrs before the test.

Hsg can be done even without anesthesia..may be u can take a buscopan before the procedure

Just before HSG you can take Hyoscine bromide (buscopan ) Injection and this reduces the pain as well as false results of blocked tubes due to spasm
Next Steps
Done on day 6-9 of periods under iv sedation under sterile aseptic precautions
Health Tips
Take a course of antibiotics and painkillers for 5 days after HSG to prevent infection

HSG can be done with sedation and anesthesia as well.
