Irritation in the penis

Lately my husband has been experiencing irritation and burning sensation in his penis every now and then. The sensations are unbearable while urinating. It appears to me like he has urine infection. Any suggestions on how to cure it? Any medicinal suggestions with out a visit to any clinic? Home remedies?
