Thanks for sending across your query. There may be some contamination or bacteria in the food that cause fever and nausea - for further diagnose a detailed history is required

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician (Ex Govt Medical Officer at RML Hospital, New Delhi), and your case has been allotted to me. Thank you for sharing your symptoms. I understand your concern. Based on your history of outside food intake followed by nausea, weakness, and chills, this most likely suggests acute gastritis or mild food related infection. Lack of sleep can further worsen these symptoms. At present, this does not appear to be an emergency if there is no vomiting, high fever, or severe pain. ⸻ What you should do now • Take adequate rest and proper sleep • Maintain good hydration with water, ORS, coconut water • Eat light, easily digestible food like khichdi, curd, banana • Avoid outside food, spicy and oily items ⸻ Medicines that can help • Antacid or PPI before meals • Anti nausea medication if required • ORS for weakness ⸻ When to consult a doctor immediately • If you develop persistent vomiting or high fever • If there is severe abdominal pain • If symptoms do not improve in 2 to 3 days ⸻ Important reassurance Most such cases are self limiting and improve within a few days with proper care and hydration. ⸻ For personalised consultation and proper treatment guidance, you can reach out to me directly on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven. Wishing you a quick recovery. Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
