Asked for Female, 26 Years

I have used meprate tablet to induce periods as prescribed by doctor. But i did not under go for any pregnancy test as chances were minimal or say no. I got my periods on 25th oct that is 8-9 days after completing tablet. I am going through heavy bleeding. Can i expect heavy bleeding for 3-5 days or it is unusual?
