Inverted nipple (how to get milk come)
Hello Doctor, My wife has inverted nipple, due to which my 6 days old is unable to drink milk. she gets few drops as she is on lacter tablets. Left breast is fine and is the only way milk comes out without issues. Can someone please suggest how to get milk out of inverted nipples as baby is developing attachment towards bottle than skin. We tried syringe technique but doesn't help. Used nipple shield, still no help. Advise.

Manually stretch and roll out the nipples several times a day. A syringe or breast pump is used to draw out the nipples and then the baby is put to the breast. This should be effective

Do not bottle feed. It will make it difficult for baby to feed from breast. Instead feed expressed breastmilk with cup and spoon or Paladai. Syringing technique is best to correct an inverted nipple. Visit a lactation expert or a pediatrician who will guide you, if difficulty persists.
