Applying hind milk and gently stretching the nipple may be useful. But proper latching where the entire dark circle around the nipple should go in the mouth of the baby and the breast should be kept away by mother’s finger to allow baby to take breath from nose is important. This will allow successful breast feeding even if nipple is retracted. Nipple shield or breast pump also can be used. Otherwise expressed milk can be fed by cup or spoon.
Next Steps
Mother may require proper breast feeding technique from trained nurse counsellor.
Greetings
It is completely okay, as babies feed from the breast tissue, not just the nipple itself.Stop using the syringe to avoid injury, and instead use a breast pump for two minutes before feeding to gently draw the nipple out.You can also purchase a silicone nipple shield from a pharmacy, which helps the baby latch easily. If the baby cannot latch yet, express the milk by hand into a clean spoon to feed the baby right away.Ensure she expresses milk every three hours to keep her milk supply strong. Please visit a lactation consultant or pediatrician
Hi regarding your concern i would like to recommend you to use nipsheild which helps in gripping the nipple well so apply the nipsheild over the breast and then feed ..
Inverted nipples can make latching difficult initially, but breastfeeding is still possible in many mothers. Ask the mother to try skin-to-skin contact and feed frequently. Before feeds, she can use gentle nipple stimulation or a breast pump/syringe pull method for 1–2 minutes to help protrude the nipple. A nipple shield under guidance of a lactation consultant may help temporarily. Ensure correct latch and positioning. Meanwhile, expressed breast milk can be given with spoon/paladai if baby is not latching well. Please meet a lactation consultant or pediatrician in person soon for proper breastfeeding support.
