Intravenous Iron
Hello my wife is in her 3rd trimester. 30 weeks completed. her iron levels are 59 and haemoglobin is 9.8. she is taking orofer xt last 4 months. we have been advised to take intravenous iron to boost iron and haemoglobin levels. we want to take your opinion about this. should we take intravenous iron? will it have any side effects.

do a haemoglobin electrophoresis before taking iv iron. If she is taking orofer daily for four months her menoglobin should have come up. It is better to rule out blood hemoglobinopathy before taking iv iron .
