Hi,
Can I take below medicine during pregnancy (5 weeks) without doctor consultation?
Tablet name - Ferrous Fumarate with folic acid and zinc Tablets
Tablet contains:
Ferrous Fumarate - 152mg
Folic Acid - 750 mcg
Zinc sulphate monohydrate - 55mg
Please suggest.

You can take the above medication, but you require folic acid 1000mcg minimum in your first 3months.
And iron supplement is not a necessity in first 3mnths.
So it’s better you choose something with colic acid 1000mcg

In the first trimester of pregnancy there is always a probability to having hyperacidity due to the hormones and ferrous Fumarate causes gastric irritation, ideally recommended to take this medication in the second trimester.
