Infant - Chest Congestion
Hi,I have a new born baby who is only 2 months old, suffering from cold as sneezing frequently, mild cough, wheezing in chest, can you please suggest any light medicines including anti allergic.. He.might have caught infection from my 6 year old daughter who has runny nose and cough, cold , she always trying to cuddle and kiss the younger brother. Please suggest ?

Yes,small babies do catch infections very easily,try to keep anyone with fever,cold and cough away from him,although that's easier said than done! If mild,just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required. If not improving OR accompanied by other symptoms like wheezing or breathlessness or dullness and refusal to feed,consult your paediatrician asap.
