Inexplicable clotting

Asked for Male, 55 Years

My mother had internal clotting in leg(around tibia) in a longitudinal section without any injury 2 days ago. She also had fever( perhaps due to this only) & too much pain in that area. The affected part is red & extremely hot( much more than rest body).She is obese & has a history of high B.P. Plz provide some insight
