I want to get out of this anxiety loop
Since joining my job in January, I have been struggling mentally with anxiety, overthinking, stammering-related fear, grief, and constant stress regarding meetings, inspections, audits, and responsibilities. After my mother suddenly passed away, my emotional condition became much worse, and I started feeling mentally exhausted and overwhelmed almost every day. Even though I have not been attending office regularly for the past several weeks due to emotional distress, and avoidance caused by anxiety, my mind has still remained constantly occupied with thoughts about work pressure and future responsibilities. Instead of feeling rested, I keep mentally anticipating meetings, inspections, questions, and embarrassing situations related to my stammering. Now there is an audit-related meeting today, and I still do not want to attend. A part of me keeps hoping that if I continue avoiding things, I may eventually get suspended or removed from the job and get rid of the constant pressure.

-Constant overthinking, avoidance of meetings, fear related to stammering, and emotional exhaustion can progressively worsen if left unaddressed
Next Steps
-Try not to completely avoid work interactions; gradual exposure in small steps usually helps reduce anticipatory fear over time -Maintain regular sleep, meals, hydration, physical activity, and reduce isolation as much as possible
Health Tips
-You do not need to solve your entire future immediately; focus on managing one day and one responsibility at a time -Grief, anxiety, and work stress together can feel overwhelming, but these conditions are treatable with proper support and structured care -Contact me anytime on Practo for further consultation

Firstly, I'm so sorry for your loss. I resonate with it. My condolences. It takes courage to be this vulnerable and it must feel hard. Honestly,I'm not sure if my advice will help you directly, but it may help you explore options that you may not have considered. Grief doesn't fit into schedules, it takes time and it varies for every individual. On the other hand, immersing yourself into a routine, maybe not a full day but half days, sharing, engaging with other humans might make the journey less arduous.  Don't be worried about Stammering- be upfront, politely communicate that this may happen due to a personal tragedy you are coping with but it doesn't affect your deliverables. Start with baby steps- food on time, hydrate well, sleep on time, take a bath and get ready as if you were to go somewhere, answer some mails in your inbox, if you have an option to work from home( please consider starting that), speak to someone you are comfortable talking to chat anything. Avoid wrong crutches- alcohol, over depressing life loss reels or even grief. Very unlikely that grief will lessen by seeing more of it. Share it, talk about it, express it and eventually you will get better at dealing with it.
Next Steps
just like You would see a doc for a viral, reach out for help. Seeking help at the right time for the right season is an excellent strength, not a sign of weakness. Creating circumstances to quit your livelihood may make you feel like you took an impulsive decision. unfortunately you can fix nothing in hind sight.
Health Tips
Be brave in the present and take baby steps to plan your future that would make you proud of coming out stronger and courageous. seek help and take care. sending you a burst of positivity.

"I can see that you are going through an incredibly difficult phase. Dealing with the sudden loss of a mother while managing professional responsibilities like audits and inspections is overwhelming for anyone. What you are experiencing is likely a combination of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Complicated Grief, exacerbated by a fear of social embarrassment due to stammering. This 'avoidance behavior'—wanting to skip meetings or even lose the job—is a classic symptom of high-level anxiety where the mind seeks immediate relief from pressure, even at a high personal cost."
Next Steps
Grounding Technique: "If you feel a panic attack coming on before the meeting, try the 5-4-3-2-1 technique: Identify 5 things you see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, and 1 you can taste. This pulls your mind out of the future-worry loop and into the present." Honest Communication: "If possible, speak to a trusted HR person or a senior about your recent loss. Most workplaces offer bereavement support or temporary adjustments for employees dealing with a parent's death." One Step at a Time: "Don't think about the whole year's responsibilities. Just focus on getting through the next one hour. The 'all-or-nothing' thinking (quitting the job vs. perfection) is the anxiety talking."
Health Tips
remember that your mental health is a priority, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. I am here to help you navigate this loop. Please book a full session to talk further
