You can go for braces after flap surgery if you have enough bone levels to support teeth movements. If you are saying flap surgery, i am assuming that you have infection of the gums and bone and already your bone levels are down from normal. So it is important that enough bone still exists before initiating braces treatment. Otherwise, the braces treatment will result and all your teeth coming out due to lack of bone support. However, because you have been advised braces treatment after flap surgery, i am again assuming that all the above assumptions have been made and your condition has been totally analyzed by your dentist. My only suggestion is to keep your teeth clean hereafter and go for routine check-up every 6 months so that further bone loss can be prevented.
Health Tips
Normally, we have to wait for 4 to 6 weeks after flap surgery and re-evaluate the condition before taking on any other treatment procedure.
