I have a lump in my right armpit

I have a lump sort of thing in my right arm pit which is there from quite a while but was not paintful at all, and was of a consistent size from a long while. But recently it has become quite painfull on touching and also seems like it is growing. I am very scared can it be any symptom of cancer?
