I got a very scanty period

I got a very scanty period. Lasted for 2 days but very less blood. What can be the reason. I read on spotting. Can it be the same. But this was on the day of my expected periods.

If ur periods were scanty and u r sexually active then first do a urine pregnancy test. Other causes cn be endometriosis , thyroid disorders , ovarian cysts , tuberculosis , infections etc.
