I am trying for pregnancy and doctor suggested to take desogestrel and ethinylestradiol tablet for 21 days. Can I know for what reason this tablet has been suggested..

It's actually a contraceptive. But If your cycles are irregular, to regularise them these tablets are given for 3 months following which conception gets easier as periods are regular and also the hormones are well balanced.

Desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol combination is used to prevent pregnancy. It is a birth control pill and when taken properly, prevents pregnancy. It works by stopping a woman's egg from fully developing each month. The egg can no longer accept a sperm and fertilization (pregnancy) is prevented.
So if you are trying to get pregnant you shouldn't take these medications
