I consulted a gynaecologist. My first B-hcg level was 1785 and after 48 hours it was 2521. Prior to the blood test there was no gestational sac. But after the blood tests I did another USG which showed a tiny intrauterine gestational sac which was empty with size 5.47mm. I requested for termination. Initially the doctor said that if there was a gestational sac then she will proceed with MTP kit. But now she is telling me to wait for 2 weeks and do another USG because it's too early and there is no baby's heartbeat. She also suspected ectopic prior to the blood tests and second USG scan. Is there any chance of it being ectopic? And should I wait for another 2 weeks to hear baby's heartbeat after proceeding with MTP?

Your BHCG has not doubled
This sac could be a pseudosac or false sac
In my opinion you can repeat BHCG n USG in one week
If the sac is growing it means its intrauterine pregnancy n in that case you can take pills for MTP
2 weeks maybe too long
If u don’t want pregnancy u don’t need to wait to hear heartbeats
Your doctor is absolutely correct
In an intrauterine pregnancy
Bhcg titers should double in 48 hours
This is indicative of an ectopic pregnancy
Medical termination cannot be offered before localization of a pregnancy
It should be confirmed that the pregnancy is intrauterine before you proceed with termination
A waiting period of 2 weeks
Is not advisable
you can repeat ultrasound after 7 days from the first
