Hypoplastic nasal bone seen at13 week pr
Hi doctor,
My wife has a pregnancy of 14weeks. We are do NT scan on 13 week pregnancy and doctor is found hypoplastic nasal bone other factors of NT scan is normal. Also we are do double marker blood test and it is found negative. My wife age is 33 years my age is 32. There is no any record or person who has down syndrome belongs from my family and my wife family also.
So is my baby is normal.?? Please suggest.

You should go for quadruple marker for further surity or should go for amniocentesis for confirmation

Hypoplastic Nasal bone on scan: Abnornal finding
NUCHAL thickness and Double marker: Normal
(NT + DMT test are screening tests)
Next step:
1. NIPT test: 99% efficacy (Screening test)
2. Quadruple marker with 16 weeks Early anatomy scan: Screening test only
3. Amniocentesis: 100% efficacy (Confirmatory Diagnostic test)
Do not Panic and do not take any adverse decision only on the bases of NT scan. Do Amniocentesis to take final decision as its confirmatory test.
