Hyperthyroidism and lower vit D and iron
Hello Doctor, I am a 27-year-old female and currently weigh 80 kg. I recently had a full health checkup. My reports show hypothyroidism with TSH 10.2 while T3 and T4 are normal. I have severe Vitamin D deficiency (3.34 ng/mL), low Vitamin B12 (185 pg/mL), and blood indices suggest iron deficiency anemia. I am experiencing extreme hair fall, fatigue, low energy, and weight gain. My HbA1c is 6.0% (prediabetic) though fasting glucose is 94 mg/dL. My lipid profile shows low HDL (33 mg/dL) with normal LDL and triglycerides. Liver function, kidney function, urine test, ESR, prolactin, FSH, LH, testosterone, and CA-125 are normal. I would like to know if this condition is treatable and reversible, and whether with proper treatment and lifestyle changes I can safely lose 20 kg from my current weight. I would appreciate your guidance on treatment for thyroid, deficiencies, hair fall, and weight loss. How much time it will take to lose weight and cure thyroid?

Lifestyle modification should be your approach along with thyroid medications. Lifestyle changes include protein rich diet, less carbohydrates, daily 30 min exercise, 6-8 hours of sleep, avoiding excess stress. Weight loss needs consistency and it's definitely possible to be at your optimum weight within 3- 6 months span if you are consistent with your diet and exercise. Also once your thyroid is controlled,  weight loss would be easier for you. For Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D deficiencies, you have to take supplements.
