Hyper active and constant fighting

I'm gonna give lonazep0.25 tablet to my 8yr old kid as prescribed by the doctor. The complaint is he is behaving hyper. Is it advisable to take such medicine at this age?

Yes it can be . But this is not the first line treatment modality for hyperactive children . I would advise to consult a child psychiatrist or pediatrician to rule out ADHD/ Autism Spectrum Disorders and then treat accordingly if there is a need .
