Hydroxyurea works?
Doctor diagnosed cml based on reports on cbc and asked for some test out of which some reports have come but still 2 reports are pending. Till the result of report doctor prescribed hydroxyurea twice a day. The tlc on the day of bone marrow biopsy and one week after (today) is attached. I am worried that wbc are decreasing very slowly. Is hydroxyurea working? Also hb has decreased. Is it cause of worry ? The test results are from two different labs

Ya hydroxyurea may work slowly to decrease WBC and platelt count.Aftr all the investigations have confirmed that it is CML, your doctor will prescribe a TKI such as imatinib or dasatinib. So wait patiently
