Hpv vaccine
My daughter got hpv vaccine cervarix at the age of 11 ( 4 years ago). She got only first dose and second dose was missed. Kindly suggest which hpv vaccine needs to be given to her now and how many doses? Will it have any side effect? Is hpv vaccine really needed now for her or can be skipped as she got her first dose already...please advise.

As she has crossed 15 yrs, she has to take 2 more doses. Take the same one as earlier or consult a pediatrician. Side effects are rare. She should take the remaining doses otherwise there is incomplete protection

Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer among Indian women and the good thing is it's preventable by vaccine. Cervarix is bivalent vaccine. While 1 dose is enough in most of the girls(70-80%) it's advised to go for complete course for better efficacy. So better go for complete schedule.
