How to treat cryptochidism

Asked for Female, 27 Years

I am a 27 year old female and have just delivered a baby boy last week. It was a premature delivery at 8 months and the doctor said that our son has cryptorchidism which may correct on its own in a years time. What are the causes of cryptorchidism? Did something during my pregnancy cause it?
