Hi C Reactive protein is a marker of inflammation. So it is not specific to any disease but is elevated in many conditions....and also considered as indicator of a higher risk for cardiac events.
However many types of fever, infections, joint inflammations, anaemia, thyroid disorders etc can also cause CRP elevation.
If you are otherwise well then it just acts as a risk indicator for heart attack...just like we tell people who smoke or are diabetic or have high cholesterol are at higher risk...but doesn't mean tht definitely the person has heart issues
Next Steps
Get other tests like Hb, ESR, TSH etc done
Meet a Rheumatologist if you have elevated CRP with joint pains or other symptoms like bodya he tiredness
If you are recovering from recent illness fever/infection- just repeat CRP after a month and see
Health Tips
maintain a healthy lifestyle. diet, keep your sugar cholesterol under control, exercise regularly...these are somethings which will help in overall good heart health
