High PP sugar 240
Hi doctor, I was covid patient and recently recovered. I was pre-diabetes before covid with 6.2 a1c( 25th Feb). But I might have developed steriod induced sugar one week back. My current a1c is 8.4. I was taking predmet 8mg. I have stopped this medicine one week back. I started oxramet 10mg/100mg from yesterday. Morning fasting was 140 but PP was 240. I had not taken medicine today after breakfast. How long it takes to medicine work?? It has been week since I stopped predmet but sugar level seems not getting down.

It takes 3-5 days for the medicine to kick in. The effect of Predmet is usually gone after a week to 10 days after stopping it.
Next Steps
Continue to check fasting daily and rotate times to check PP sugar 2 hrs after breakfast, 2 hrs post lunch and 2 hrs post dinner for a week. Continue current medicine. Goal fasting sugar is 90-120, and post meal is 90-140. If after another 5 days, sugars are not at goal, consult online to discuss changes in medicine, diet and exercise.
