High fever frequently for my 2yrs old ba
My baby had a severe fever along with runny nose, sneezing and coughing. It lasts more than one week. Doctor told that it is a viral fever. Nothing to worry. But when I consulted another docotr, he suggested that my baby is little allergic. So he prescribed one tablet named 'Montelukasts 4mg' which should be consumed for month and then to visit him. Again. Is it necessary for my baby to take that tablet.

Well, that med is for preventing response to allergy. But if fever is present every time,it's infective,NOT allergic. Just give steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down. Use paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hours if required.
