High Fasting sugar during pregnancy
Hi doctor, I am 28 weeks pregnant. Since my sugar levels are on the higher side since 6th week, I am taking glycomet 1500mg ( 1000+500mg) since starting. I am monitoring my sugar at home 4 times.. 1 hr post breakfast, lunch and dinner respectively and all are under 140, however, fasting sugar which I take post waking up is mostly in the range 95-105 (since I reach week 26th). Pls guide.. do I need to take insulin shots?

If fasting is persistently above 100 u need treatment. If you’re on. 1000 mg metformin at night you will need insulin. In any case you’re only 28 weeks- the sugars will rise in pregnancy and u will need insulin at some point Insulin is safe anyway and it is only temporary and will stop at delivery.
