If a patient does have a hiatus hernia then taking the medication will help to relieve the symptoms but once the medication is stopped then the symptoms will come back. Sometimes the patient does not respond to medication then he/she will need surgery to repair the hernia
Next Steps
Consult a surgeon if symptoms do not improve
Health Tips
Avoid spicy foods and carbonated drinks Do not go to sleep immediately after eating wait for at least one hour Sleep with two pillows if possible
