In simple words, your tongue on left side has a swelling starting in front from the tip, and extending to back till the back of tongue and touching a bone there. There are also nearby lymph nodes involved in the neck on same side - left. Surgeon preferably a Head and neck surgeon/ Surgical oncologist, will do an MRI of that area , prior to decision on surgery. Based on the report of the surgery, further treatments will be planned - that is if radiation and /or chemotherapy. Prior to surgery, chemotherapy 3 cycles can be done to shrink the tumour. In that case, a small incisional biopsy will be done to prove that this is a malignancy prior to chemotherapy.
Next Steps
MRI neck, Surgeon consult for surgery including excision reconstruction neck dissection.
